We had a wonderful time in Kirkby Thore! My husband, small dog, and I stayed for three weeks. The cottage was lovely. I found it very comfy and relaxing. There was lots of space. The wi-fi worked great, and it was wonderful working at the kitchen table watching the wood pigeon, robin, and other birds in the garden. The backyard garden was very private. The post office is next door and has the essentials (e.g., bread, toothpaste). Will who works there was wonderful! The people in town were very friendly and the community centre nearby has little events now and then (we attended a weekend breakfast). We spent a Saturday walking to the nearby towns of Long Marton and Dufton and visited the pubs there. Another weekend we did a nearby hike, High Cup Nick, and visited Penrith for Christmas-season festivities. Appleby is a short drive and was also very cool. My favourite part of our stay was going for little walks near the cottage. Lots of robins and rabbits. And I loved the sheep!

We had a great stay, 4 adults and one dog. It was very spacious and comfortable. It has EVERYTHING you could think of needing and more, for a break away. It’s very clean. It’s close to beautiful walks and scenery. Chloe is a brilliant host, very helpful and responds quick. Thank you again, we had a brilliant time and will definitely stay again 🥰

What an absolutely fabulous little cottage! I hesitate to recommend it as I would rather it remained a secret (!) ... but of course I need to shout about how much we loved our visit. The cottage has everything you might need, location is fabulous (next to the village shop) and within shooting distance of the lakes. We loved it (but don't tell everyone!) x

We loved our stay at Chloe's cottage. The highlight was the kitchen - spacious, well equipped, bright and with comfortable chairs round the table. Beds very comfortable. Living room spacious and comfortable. Bathroom compact but perfectly good. It is an excellent base for daily trips to the Lakes, though there are some pretty impressive fells very close by.

The cottage is very well located being just off the A66. There is a village shop next door, and whilst no pubs/food places in Kirby Thore there are plenty of good places a short drive away. It was nice and quiet. The kitchen and living room are well equipped and comfortable.

Lovely old cottage with original features. comfortable and warm stay. The private enclosed garden was perfect for the dog.
